Collaborate to protect wildlife in Africa

World biodiversity faces an unprecedented crisis: poaching, habitat loss and diseases threaten numerous wild species. Veterinary medicine, scientific research and work with local communities are key tools to protect these species and preserve the balance of the ecosystems on which the health of the planet depends.

Contribute to the conservation of endangered wildlife species through specialized veterinary interventions, scientific research and actions to improve the health management of animal populations and the protection of their ecosystems.

Descripció

The Wild Spirit Foundation is a foundation dedicated to the conservation of African wildlife through veterinary medicine, scientific research and direct field work. Its mission is to improve veterinary capacity in the care of wildlife, promote coexistence between humans and animals and contribute to the protection of endangered species.

The Foundation works under the one health approach, which recognizes the Close relationship between the health of animals, ecosystems and people. Through this model, the Wild Spirit Foundation develops programs that combine specialized veterinary interventions, scientific research and collaboration with local communities to protect biodiversity and prevent threats to the health of ecosystems. Veterinary medicine and research applied to the conservation of wildlife, especially in threatened species such as elephants, rhinos, gorillas, chimpanzees or big cats. The activities take place in different African countries, such as South Africa, Tanzania, Gabon and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where the team of veterinarians and conservationists works directly on the rescue, treatment, monitoring and study of wild animals.

Activitats
  • Specialized veterinary care for injured or sick wild animals.

  • Rescue and rehabilitation of animals victims of illegal trafficking or poaching. Monitoring devices to study their movements and threats.

  • Veterinary research on diseases that affect wildlife.

  • Health surveillance programs to prevent diseases that may affect animals, ecosystems or Humans.

  • Training and training of local veterinarians and professionals specialized in wildlife. community, improvement of livestock and mitigation programs for human-fauna conflict.

Qui se'n beneficiarà?

The direct beneficiaries of the project are species of wildlife in danger of extinction, such as elephants, rhinos, gorillas, chimpanzees, cheetahs or lions, as well as the ecosystems where they live. Veterinarians, scientists and local professionals also benefit, who receive training and resources to improve the conservation of wildlife.

Indirectly, the project also benefits local communities living with wildlife, especially in Africa. Among them are students from our school in Tanzania, young people who access educational scholarship programs, local staff and participants in health initiatives, education and environmental awareness. These actions contribute to strengthening local capacities and promoting a more sustainable coexistence among people and wildlife.
